Splitright privacy information

Effective date: 2026-08-20

Who is responsible?

Splitright is operated by Kristoffer Nordström. Contact: kristoffer.nordstrom@outlook.com.

What the app stores

To provide shared groups, Firebase Realtime Database in europe-west1 stores group and participant names and IDs, along with expense and settlement content. Group-code access is shared: anyone given a code may access that group's content. Splitright currently has no account or authentication system.

The app stores local data in AsyncStorage on your device, including the local archive. Local data remains until you remove or clear it, or uninstall the app.

Services used

Splitright does not use ads, analytics, Crashlytics, tracking, IDFA, in-app purchases, push notifications, location, contacts, photos, or payment-card data.

This is checkable independently of us. Exodus Privacy, a non-profit that performs static analysis on Android apps to list embedded trackers, analysed the Splitright build published on Google Play on 27 August 2026 and found 0 trackers: reports.exodus-privacy.eu.org. The report is theirs, not ours; we can neither edit nor remove it.

Why we use information

Processing is to provide the requested shared-expense functionality, including shared groups, expense and settlement records, and currency conversion. We process the information needed to operate that functionality and respond to support and privacy requests.

Retention, deletion and requests

Firebase shared data has no automatic expiry. It is retained until a verified deletion request can appropriately be fulfilled or the service is retired. Local data remains until it is removed, cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Deletion and export are not currently self-service.

To request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or other privacy assistance, email kristoffer.nordstrom@outlook.com. We may need enough information to locate the relevant group and reasonably verify that you are authorised to make the request. Shared-group rights and the interests of other participants may limit what we can do, and applicable law may permit or require us to refuse or limit a request.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable data-protection law, you may have rights to access information, correct it, request erasure or restriction, object to processing, and receive or ask us to transmit certain information in a portable format. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. These rights are subject to applicable conditions, exceptions, and the rights of other people; we do not promise an unconditional outcome. You may complain to Sweden’s supervisory authority, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY): imy.se.

International transfers and security

Firebase shared data is configured in europe-west1. Our service providers may process information outside Sweden or the EEA. Where required, transfers use applicable safeguards under data-protection law. We use reasonable measures intended to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Splitright is not directed to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian with a concern about a child’s information, please contact us at kristoffer.nordstrom@outlook.com.
