Splitright

Terms and acceptable use

These terms apply to the Splitright app for iOS and Android. Last updated 24 August 2026.

What Splitright is

Splitright records shared expenses inside a group and calculates balances and settlements. It does not move money and is not a bank, payment service, or financial adviser. Balances, exchange rates, and settlement suggestions are informational, and you are responsible for checking them before paying anyone.

No account or sign-in is required. Access to a group is based on that group's code.

Using Splitright responsibly

You are responsible for the content you add: participant names, expense descriptions, amounts, and any other text. When you use Splitright you agree not to:

Group codes are access credentials. Anyone holding a group's code may be able to view and change that group's content. Share codes only with intended participants and treat them like a password.

Reporting content and removing people

If content in a group is abusive or should not be there, use Report content in the app's group menu. That prepares an email you can review and send to us, or write directly to kristoffer.nordstrom@outlook.com. Reports are reviewed manually by a person, normally within a few business days.

Group participants can also remove a participant from a group in the app, which stops that person appearing in the group's expenses and balances. If someone has a group's code and should no longer have access, stop using that group and create a new one with a new code, and share it only with the intended participants.

We may remove content or restrict access where content breaks these terms or the law.

Your data

How Splitright handles data is described in the Splitright privacy information. There is currently no automatic retention schedule, self-service deletion, or export feature; requests are handled manually by email. Splitright should not be your only record of shared expenses.

Availability and changes

Splitright is provided as-is and free of charge, with no ads, tracking, subscriptions, or in-app purchases in this release. Features, availability, and these terms may change. Material changes to these terms will be shown in the app the next time you create or join a group.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.
